Shooting in the snow
by Dan Hartman

Feb. 6, 2016

We're in the middle of our busiest time of the year, so I haven't gotten out much.  I was there however when they attempted to capture the Lamar Alpha Male.  I"ve never really seen it up close before.

Coming back from getting supplies in Livingston, we discovered a little pygmy owl perched low hunting through a snow storm.  It is my sixth pygmy sighting this winter.

Farther on a ram was waiting out the same storm.

Thursday, Cindy and I returned to Livingston to pick up our new poster "Yellowstone Wolves".  It's a new tittle for our sold out print "Howling Druids".  On our way out, a beaver broke through the ice at the west end of Round Prairie.  Coming home in a snow storm, (as always seems to be the case), the fox was tucked in the rocky outcropping near the Yellowstone Bridge.  Then as we neared Hitching Post a grey Lamar wolf trotted along a  small creek.  Cindy got a quick photo before it crossed the road and climbed the slope to the north.
