New Years Day
Celebrating at the Cabinby Dan Hartman
Jan. 1, 2014
Well, Ive been walking for about a week now. I still have problems on un-even ground as both ankles are still very weak and any chunk of snow or piece of ice can send me sprawling. I'm improving every day and hope to be back to normal by spring. (I'll never take walking for granted again!)I would like to publicly thank Cindy for all the wood hauling, roof raking, drive shoveling, snowshoe trail laying not to mention fetching for me as I sat in an easy chair for two months watching my collection of old western movies. I know I wasn't always easy to live with as just sitting watching my life pass by was depressing at times.
I ventured out into the park the other morning. It felt good after such a long absence.
It was cold and frosty. Five moose browsed the willows at Pebble Creek. Two even engaged in some late season sparring.
The Lamars were out between Soda Butte and Footbridge. The black female north of the road and the gray male to the south. I made it as far as the Buffalo Ranch before returning home.
Here at the cabin, the girls, along with Kevin, continued our tradition of our New Years Eve snowshoe hike just before midnight. I'm hoping to try snowshoeing today in daylight. Then Cassie, as she's done for years, cut wrapping paper into confetti for our New Years Celebration.
Wishing eveyone a great 2014!
