Owl Summer Film

Film review
by Dan Hartman

April 12, 2020

"Dan is an outstanding naturalist who just happens to have an exquisite gift for visually capturing the natural world.  That gift was on full display in his latest film, "Owl Summer".  It gives wonderful insight into the nesting and chick-rearing of 4 owl species.  Particularly noteworthy was his capture of a female Boreal Owl poking her head out of a tree's nest cavity, as well as an interesting approach to its nest hole by a Northern Pygmy Owl.  The narration struck the perfect balance of being both informative when the situation dictated, and unobtrusive when the visual spoke for itself.  For us it was truly time well spent."
